PARVEEN (oak). Acrylic paint and oil (26 x 8 cm).
In 2021 a friend of mine stopped by for the coffee and brought me a present – a big log of oak. His father works with wood and he didn’t want to work with this part of the tree as it was full of knots and was not suitable for the scalptural work he does. Getting it to the studio was quite an effort. Unlike mine Vaclav’s body is the one of the warrior – big muscles and broad shoulders but still – 60 stairs with this load is quite demanding.
When we got it downstairs I put the log in the plastic bag and stored it in the basement. It took me another year to open the bag and cut the log in half...and turn it. Parveen has a beautiful color and grain.

PARVEEN (26 x 8 cm).
Tahle dubová mísa je z dubového dřeva. V roce 2021 se za mnou do studia zastavil kamarád. Do telefonu mi říkal, že pro mě má dárek. Ten dárek byl obrovský koláč dubu. Jeho otec pracuje se dřevem a tenhle kus se mu nehodil pro jeho sochařskou práci - byl plný suků a nepravidelně rosteného dřeva. Václav je narozdíl ode mně ramenatý a svalnatý, ale i tak pro nás byla dost dřina dostat tento špalek do studia. 60 schodů je 60 schodů J. Když jsme se přeci jenom dopracovali dolů, zabalil jsem dřevo do plastového pytle a pak mi trvalo téměř rok než jsem s ním začal pracovat. Parveen má krásnou barvu a strukturu dřeva.
