GRETA (beech). Acrylic paint, oil and wax. (30.5/29 cm wide and 8 cm high).
The wood comes from the forrest which is part of the botanical garden in Tharandt (Germany). The tree fell about 2 years ago and I have already used it`s wood last year and I was bit scared that this year the wood would be already rotten or way too damaged for wood turning. Fortunately only small part of the tree which was close to the cut made last year was bad. Further the wood was beautiful and undamaged with some parts spalted.

Tohle překrásné dřevo pochází z lesa, který je součástí botanické zahrady v německém městě Tharand. Už v minulém roce jsem s tímto dřevem pracoval a když jsem se ke stromu letos vrátil měl jsem strach, že už bude dřevo shnilé a zničené a tedy nevhodné pro prácí. K mému údivu byla poničená jen malá část u řezu, který jsem tam minulý rok nechal. Dále bylo dřevo nádherné.
