From Paris about Krakow

Sunday, June 26, 2011

Its two days now since I came to Paris  to visit my girlfriend and having my afternoon coffee in their beautiful apartment I finally have some time to post a blog  about my trip to Krakow.

Me and my FRIEND.FRIEND Vita went there to find a shop for Deafmessanger journals. Ive heard just good things about the city, but was really impressed by its atmosphere. I loved its small streets and busy square in Kazimierz (the part of the city where we had our guesthouse) where either locals and tourists come to have  Zapekanki (pizza like dish made of baguette and cheese and other stuff of your choice) and what was the most surprising thing to me how stylish their pubs/bars/restaurants are. Yes its truth there are some great places in Prague, but just very few can reach the heights of the ones I saw in Krakow. Seems like each of them was designed to look differently than the one next door so they all look unigue. If its not far away to Krakow I recommend you to visit this city. And if you plan a trip to Europe make sure you make a space for few days in this city - you will be rewarded as we were.

My best friend and now my working partner Vita on the seat number 15. We had spent too many hours on the train and wasted too much time waiting for them. On the way back from Krakow our train was 150 minutes delayed - luckily we still cought connecting train to Prague. Otherwise I wouldnt catch my morning flight to Paris. Its waste of time to complain about the polish railways - they are the same as czech ones. The only exception is that at least in Czech they tell you in czech, english and german that the train is delayed. In Poland they dont really tell you anything and thats kinda fucked up....

Big Brother is watching you....everywhere

Well done

It can be frustrating to be vegan and have hunters instict. I think its why I catch "wild" animals. I let them go after a while but still I cant help it and need to know Im capable of catching them :-)

They were easy prey anyway...

Well thats really nice, but Im afraid their voices wont be heard...

Lovekrove is the place  that now has DMA journals for sale. We loved that place from the first time we saw it - passed it and than came back to have a coffee and than asked if they want our stuff and they seemed to be happy to say they would liked to.

'Court is for uptown people with suits, money, lawyers with three names. If you got cash, you can buy court justice, but on the street justice has no price. She's blind where the judge sits, but she's not blind out here. Out here the bitch got eyes'

Found this stencil sprayed on the wall near my workshop than few blocks later i found what is on the following picture....

...I guess someone got caught before getting the job done...its just this tiny mark of spray where the top of stencil is that you can say the stencil was supposed to be there....

Dnes

Monday, June 13, 2011

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Ony to tyhle holky dělají hodně podobně

I dont like Segway. The way it moves, the way it looks like. Its just something I have problem to understand and anytime I see someone on it I wanna throw a nail under it so it would flats its tyre. Yesterday I saw two policemen on it and its like seeing a devil himself. I think some things should be just banned :-).
Well it says alot about my intolerance but at least I openly admit that.

How to remove thick layer of spraypaint from stencil

Saturday, June 11, 2011

I have been struggling with this problem for over 4 years now. There are stencils (cut into plastic) i use repeatedly and from time to time i just have to cut the new one when the layer of paint is too thick that the detais get completely lost. Sometimes when the paint get dry enough I can peel it away but when you use different spraypaints on the same stencil it hardly get dry at all and if it gets it takes way too long so I have been forced to cut the new stencil before I could remove the layer from the old one.

Finally I came with thought of putting the stencil into the refrigerator and let the paint to freeze completely. I didnt know if that will work since the spraypaints are made to survive even when you use them when its freezing outside, but i gave it a try and it worked!

SO here is how you do it (well if the stencil is not bigger than your refrigerator - otherwise you have to wait for the winter to put it on your backyard :-)).

Put the stencil into the refrigerator ...

Leave it there for about an hour - its probably ok to try it after ten minutes but well i leave it there longer...

When you put it out of the refrigerator make the move like you are trying to break the stencil. Thats when they layer of spraypaint start peeling off. Than as fast as possible try to remove this layer from the stencil. After a really short time the paint start to be sticky again so if you see it stick to the stencil again dont try coz you may demage the stencil and put it back into refrigerator. You can try it again in few minutes.

Magic suitcase

Saturday, June 11, 2011

They always tell you not to touch things like boxes or  black plastic bags, or.....suitcases. Anything that looks suspicious. Anything that looks too good for the place where you found it or too good for someone to leave it behind.
Today riding my bike I passed beautiful brown suitcase. I turned the bike and came to it. I didnt think about terrorism, I didnt think about  London bombing in 2005 or similar tragic events that happened in big cities in the past. I thought of surprise and was all nervous to open it. And when I did I was so happy I didnt call police alarmed by the threat of death :)....

I love surprise and this was the big one :-).

Going to Guatamala

Friday, June 10, 2011

My good friend Greg Bennick wrote me this message today and i  just wanna share this little thing that made me happy :-).

"I leave for guatemala tomorrow....i am taking a Deafmessanger journal with me"

Greg is a wonderful person making people around him happy. He works on various interesting and respectful projects. To mention fews: He is helping to collect money for people from Haiti after their land was stricken by earthquake in 2010. Working with native americans in the project called Western Shoshone nation. He also made an interesting documentary called Flight from Death. Now he is on the way to Guatamala to voluntier for Choice Humanitarian in a remote village to support villagers as they build themselves a school. He is also great performer and juggler and  I know him through his band Trial i saw for the first time in 2000 and now is singing for his new band called Between Earth and Sky. Long story short - he is great person doing great things.

Got this picture yesterday. Its little Zoe - a daughter  of my great friend Ondra and his wife Jana. And its a photoalbum I made for them right behind her.
