Farma Naděje

Thursday, May 21, 2015

Being a vegan for almost 15 years, it felt as a necessity to answer the call and make something that could support the animals in need. This is a piece I made for an exhibition that will sell art from various artists and all the money will go to this amazing farm sanctuary project in Czech Republic. „…“ farm sanctuary will take care of animals such as pigs, cows, sheep and hens that were saved from the horrible environment of the meat and dairy industry. I know a whale is not a farm animal but it stands as a symbol for the fight against injustice committed on innocent animals.

Za nápadem a realizací výstavy stojí tahle milá holka Bára. Respekt jejímu úsilí.

Mel B

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I was 16 years old when I saw their video “Wannabe". Of course I couldn’t admit that I liked them because I wanted to be seen as a guy who doesn’t give a f++k about their cheesy pop music. Well, I can admit it now. That song was cheesy but I loved it nonetheless. When we found these old postcards with the Spice Girls, I was wondering which one my favorite was. It was Mel B - Scary Spice! Which one was yours? Victoria, Mel B, Emma, Mel C or Geri? And don’t try to pretend you don’t know them. We know you do! Of course we don’t want to be greedy and keep the cards for ourselves, so we will place them in the notebooks for you.

Farewell to 2014

Saturday, January 03, 2015

It’s time to write about the year 2014.

To start with: I loved this year! It brought so much pleasure that I couldn’t wish for anything better. The greatest happening: on September 27th my son Theodor was born. Definitely the best thing that ever happened to me! I finally start to understand the cliché about fresh moms and dads. It’s really the most powerful and joyful event in the life of a human being. The time before Theo was born had been shaped by the preparations for the little one and I don’t think I have ever lived through such hectic times. I needed to get our apartment ready and of course deal with the daily work for Deafmessanger Notebooks.

Speaking of the company: it has been a great year for us. We have managed to find new shops that now carry our products. We have done some interesting custom projects and got the attention of some magazines and blogs as well. The most important project was the making and donating of 100 notebooks for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS). We are happy to support this awesome organization that is doing so much to save sea life.

What is most satisfying for me personally is the feedback from our customers. It has been 8 years since I founded the company and every now and then we get an e-mail from somebody who either got our notebook as a present or bought it for her/him self. To read the lines of someone who started to write a book using our notebook, telling us that on every page they find inspiration, is fantastic. Or that the notebook was the best present that she/he could ask for. It‘ s just great! Reading those e-mails tells me that our work makes sense and that we should go on because there are people out there that really appreciate what we do. It feels utterly great to get orders from regular customers also. When the same person orders from us for the 5th time, it means that our product is good and that some people are loyal to it and I think that’s one of the highest goals a small company can achieve.

We are so looking forward to the year 2015 and we are curious to see what it will bring.

We want to thank everybody who is supporting Deafmessanger. Because of you we can do what we love.
